Goals are Gold

The old adage that goals are gold rang true yesterday as the Dolphins consolidated their top three spot with a 54-point trouncing of an inaccurate Seaton Ramblers at Dolphin Park.

The home sides superior ball movement and accuracy in front of goal was the key to victory on a perfect winter day at Dolphin Park. Christian 'Pooch' Puccini finished the day with 7 goals and was superb. Other major contributors were Damien 'Radar' Raidis, Josh Hegarty and Lucas Tancock. Pooch was not the only goal kicker as Matthew Owen and Ben Primus both slotted 3 each.

The B Grade jumped back into finals contention with a stirring 3-point victory. Shaun Turner and Sam Horgan (2 goals) both player fantastic games. Although the B Grade have grabbed fifth spotthey will have to keep winning to keep it as Old Ignatians in sixth spot are also eyeing a finals berth.

As usual a large and vocal crowd attended the Scoreboard Bar. It was pleasing to note that all patrons at the Scorebaord Lounge Bar adhered to the dress code as published last week. Management has advised that any BYO drinks will in future incur a corkage fee.

After two magnificent home wins we take to the road again this week heading to Kilburn. Kilburn registered their first win of the season this week knocking off fellow relegation candidate Scotch OC. There is no doubt that they will be pumped up for our visit after the belting they received from us last time we met in Round 4. Make sure you get along and lend your support.

Go you Dolphins!
